What? Join us on Tuesday, April 8th, as we continue our new film series celebrating the remarkable career of this Czech-born director. "The Firemen's Ball" was the last film Forman made in his native Czechoslovakia before he relocated to the United States. It is also the first film
he shot in color, as well as a milestone of the Czechoslovak New Wave.
About the film:
A volunteer fire department throws a party for their former boss with the whole town invited, but nothing goes as planned.
Nominated for Best Foreign Language Film, 1969 Academy Awards.
The film will also play on April 12 at 3:30pm and April 13 at 1:00pm.
